Fresh Start Detail Company in Beaverton announces hand car and truck washing now available to the public.
In the past, only special clients were offered this much sought-after service in Beaverton and Portland. Now anyone can get the special treatment of a professional, environmentally friendly hand car wash service from Oregon’s premier auto detailing company.
Environmentally friendly? All water used at Fresh Start Detail is reclaimed and treated. The same cannot be said for all the
“Washbucket Willy’s” mobile washing companies, or even the charity car washes that pop up in parking lots during the summer.
Fresh Start Detail’s President, Jason Barker says, “People who hold charity car washing events in parking lots usually do not realize the damage they’re causing by rinsing their soaps, chemicals, brake dust, oil, and not to mention thousands of gallons of water down the storm drain and straight into the nearest creek. If you want to support a charity car wash in a parking lot, just give them a donation and drive off, don’t contribute to the pollution of our streams. Incidentally, washing your own car in your driveway causes the same kind of damage to local streams.”
Appointments are not required but are recommended if you want to get in and out quickly.

Over 12 years ago we installed a water reclamation system here to collect all the water we use to clean Beaverton’s cars. This was WAY before the term “Green” was a popular buzzword thrown around by almost any company nowadays.
Since then we’ve continued to find ways to lessen any negative impact we may have on the environment. This means staying on top of technology and doing plenty of research and testing of products, tools, and procedures. A few things you may not know about how our company stays as “green” as possible:
1) We reclaim all wash water and treat it before going to the sanitary sewer, no water goes to rivers or lakes.
2) We use vapor steam to clean your car’s interior which reduces our need for cleaning chemicals.
3) We use citrus based cleaners for all but the nastiest jobs.
4) We use a water-smart washing system when possible which uses less than a quart of water to wash your vehicle.
5) We implemented a recycling system so all paper, soda cans, and plastic bottles are recycled. (Including what we clean out from your car)
6) All our lighting systems have timers and/or photo cells to minimize their use.
7) We use an environmentally sensitive laundry service to clean all our wiping towels.
Our latest improvement is the installation of our own spot-free water filtration system. We already use spot-free water to rinse your car, but that water is created by the use of a tank that has to be trucked in to us and replenished periodically. With our new system we can eliminate that trucking process and also eliminate our bottled drinking water company too!
